House of Terror is a museum in Budapest that contains exhibits from the fascist and communist dictatorial regimes instituted in Hungary after the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Opened in 2002 the museum has proven to be a very popular tourist attraction among the tourists that visited Budapest. The permanent exhibition includes a memorial to the victims of the regimes, propaganda banners, torture tools and pictures of the torturers, many of whom are still alive. The information about the exhibits are available in English and Hungarian. The audio guides are also available in English and German.
