The Museum of Textile and Clothing Industry is hosted in the former residence of the Goldberger family, one of the most flourishing textile merchants in Budapest during the 18th, the 19th and the 20th century.

Despite the fact it finally opened its gates to the public no sooner than 1999, a moment until when the foundation managing the museum had striven to find a place where to put the collections on display, the museum has already been awarded and acknowledged for its documentary value on the cultural scene of Budapest. Thus, the museum boasts of four permanent exhibitions, and it is also available for sundry temporary exhibitions.

Part of its mission is to depict the history of the role the Goldberger family played in the commercial context of the almost 3 centuries when they dominated the clothing industry of Hungary.
